Centrul de Educare Canină, comes to support of the children with disabilities

disability2Centrul de Educare Canina collaborates with World Vision Romania, Dolj Area Development Program for 6 years developing the relational therapy activity between children with disabilities and trained rescue dogs. The canine organization was present at the celebration of International Children’s Day for the special needs children. “We have been developing this activity for the last six years and there is a significant psycho- relational progress between the children and the dogs. The children are always happy to play and interact with the dogs”, said Liviu Ionescu.

zi-mondialaYou have been mugged, attacked by some people or you have got stuck in a fire, with little chances of saving yourself; in any of these situations, a dog especially trained is definitely your saviour!

The robber passed around the corner; he had to escape his chasers; with a professional’s eye, he searched every nook and cranny, looking for an entry. He circled the construction, measuring the windows and the barred doors; “It isn’t working”, he told himself nervously and crossed the yard covered in high, dense grass. Finally, he chuckled in a satisfied manner.

Performance on four legs

spectacol-4-labeThe owners of rescue dogs had reasons to treat their best friends to some more attention than usual. World Day of the Rescue Dogs, the event which is supported in 82 countries around the world, was also celebrated yesterday afternoon in Dolj, at the Veterinary High school in Malu Mare, under the organization of Centrul de Educare Canina Craiova.

Several breeds of dogs, including cocker spaniel, Rottweiler, Labrador, Golden Retriever or  German Shepherd and Caucasian  scrolled on the grass of the high school courtyard Malu Mare in the applauds of nearly 200 spectators gathered to attend the four legged  show.

Guide dogs for people with disabilities

The rescue dogs have their own World Championship

caini-salvatoriThey are defying the falling bricks, fire or water. They are not even afraid of the toxic environment. They are professionals and act like real firefighters, mountain rescuers or lifeguards. They have "studies", but they attended classes at a special school. Why? Because they are dogs.

They went to the most important competitions from their field and they surprised everyone.  They are our stars, "says proudly the head of Centrul de Educare Canina in Romania, Liviu Ionescu. Craiova Center represents for many years," the school "where dogs are trained for the most difficult life rescue missions.

Dogs with human hearts

caini-omEverybody heard about the dogs that save humans from drowning, from avalanches and from beneath rubble,of the dogs that sacrifice their lives to save their owner’s. In the Sunday edition on the 22 of February of the TV show ”You see your self at Pro TV  News ”, Cristian Tabara will invite Pro- TV  viewers at Craiova ,the place where these dogs so sensitive to human sufferance are being prepared for risky missions.

The activity of team “Rescue Dog” begun 1996, and the base were put by Liviu Ionescu, a Romanian with impressive record in canine world. In a few years, he has managed to bring the team in world elite of rescue dogs, and the sign of this International recognition is that the World Championship for Rescue Dogs will be organized in Romania.

The dog, man’s best rescurer

competitie-la-craiovaThe weekend brought in Craiova the most important names in the dog world through the event organized by Centrul de Educare Canina Romania. On the 19th  and 20th of April, representatives from Hungary, Austria, Turkey and our country have competed in various tests under the eyes of the spectators  that came from all parts of the country at the international IRO Test - European Championship of rescue dogs.

For two days, Craiova and its surroundings became the meeting places for dog lovers, as the city hosted the most important event worldwide in terms of dogs trained to save lives. After they have adapted to the land area and competition, the 38 dogs that subscribed entered the competition were examined line by line by the brigade of specialized judges, even though the Northern exigency did not please the participants all the time. In the end, the winner came out to be the Austrian Eric Koczi, Fibi’s master, a German shepherd dog, and the crew prize was earned by Austria, former world champion; still, our country has not left the competition without obtaining important points.

Eastern Europe Cup for rescue dogs

cupa-europei-estOn Saturday and Sunday International IRO Test Craiova 2008 took place in Craiova.

The event is the first of its kind in Romania and in Eastern Europe and has enjoyed the participation of 23 dog-leader teams from Austria, Turkey, Hungary and Romania. The competition was organized by the Center for Canine Education, with the support of Isalnita Firefighters Department of Dolj County, Red Cross, local authorities and 122 volunteers. The jury was made up of four judges considered to be among the ten best judges for the rescue dogs.

The dog-leaders teams have competed in four disciplines within the contest. The test of obedience and dexterity was held on the "Army" stadium and all dogs were tested in these disciplines, the search for victims in rubble area at the construction S200, near McDonald's, tracking and area search at the forest near Vârvoru and the water rescue test was held at Preajba Lake.
