Warning!
We know: you know that, but don’t forget !
The use of means of coercion inflicting pain to the dog before, during and after the work will entail disqualification of the dog handler and the team, if applicable.
It is prohibited to be present on any of the competition sites for tracking, rubble or area search prior to the official time of competition. Such presence will entail disqualification of the dog handler, as well as the complete team.
In case of warm weather, everybody must pay attention to the fact that all dogs in cars must have sufficient fresh air and that the cars must be parked in shady places.
Dogs are not allowed to run free and escape the control of the handler on any of the competition sites or during official events (opening, closing ceremony etc.).
Each dog handler is responsible for collecting and discharging excrement of dogs. Places where dog handlers can do so are indicated.
Bitches on heat are not allowed to participate in the opening and closing ceremonies.
Official / formal dressing is desirable during the opening and closing ceremonies.
In the auditorium of the area search and the disaster search no eating is permitted.
The execution of the world championship must always include at least 2 of the areas of discipline as set down in the IPO-R and may be selected by the hosting organization. The areas of discipline are to be listed as follows:
- Tracking-, area- and rubble search testing Level B
- Avalanche- and water rescue testing Level C
The total number of participants in a world championship is not limited. Should conditions warrant, however, the president of the IRO in consulation with the organizers may set a limit.
Every member organization may enter up to 8 dog handlers but may not enter more than 50 % (= 4 dog handlers) in any one discipline.
Each dog handler may participate with only one dog.
Dog handlers are to participate in nosework, if available, using their home organization’s uniform/equipment. Otherwise handlers are to appear in appropriate rescue dog discipline clothing.
Each dog entered in a given discipline must have passed a level B test (IPO-R) fort he same discipline as it is entered, by the registration deadline. This test must be judged by an official designated judge of the FCI or IRO with allowance for international testing.
The level B test has to be passed with a minimum of 270 points (Evaluation: very good / excellent).
